What are we doing about it?
The District Council, Town Council and Three Rivers Partnership are each taking significant positive steps.
North Dorset District Council:
owns the footprint of the existing buildings and is providing this to the new project
is providing professional finance and planning advice
has already ring fenced capital funds which it will make available to the project when needed.
Gillingham Town Council:
owns the adjacent playing field and surrounding area
is providing a home, resources and revenue for the Three Rivers Partnership which is leading the drive for the new facilities.
Three Rivers Partnership:
has transformed itself into an organisation fit and able to deliver the new facilities
is examining every aspect of designing, building and operating the new facilities
has commissioned a study to understand what is realistically achievable and affordable (see SMC Architect's information.)
