For Community Facilities:

Market Research - what do people want?
Development of options - what best meets the needs of the whole community?
Business Planning - what is affordable and sustainable?

For Open Spaces:

Land surveys and audits - location, condition and value
Management Plans - strategies for conservation and upkeep
Business Planning - strategies for funding

Where are we now?

For Community Facilities:

Based on extensive consultation with prospective user groups, we commissioned a Feasibility Study to expose the costs and risks involved in building and running a new facility. The proposed design is displayed nearby together with costs related to the 20 metre and 25 metre pools.

For Open Spaces:

We have identified and surveyed every open space within the Town boundary and have a Management Plan for each. We are engaged in negotiations with NDDC to transfer ownership of various parcels of land to 3RP together with funding for long term upkeep. A plan of these areas is displayed nearby.

What we are now prepared to do is

Act on behalf of the community to:

Oversee the design build and commissioning of new sports fitness and community facilities for the Gillingham area
Further develop the business planning for a sustainable commercial operation
Undertake day to day management, operation and upkeep of the facility through a 'not for profit' Charitable Company
Develop a service to manage and maintain open spaces in Gillingham town and provide conservation advice and support to the surrounding villages

To make this possible the Three Rivers Partnership requires from the Community a clear indication of:

Their support for the services
Their preference for one or other of the design options for new facilities
Their commitment to enabling the delivery of the Facilities Project by contributing via Town and Parish Precepts to the running costs of 3RP during the design and build phase. Related costs are displayed nearby.
Their commitment to sustaining the availability and operation of the new facilities by meeting the inevitable revenue shortfall incurred as a result of including a Swimming Pool. Related costs are displayed nearby.
